November 28th - Dior Cosmetics
Getting gorgeous for Christmas. That was the goal of the Crickettes as Lourdes Vazquez and Mary Jane Sanchez, National Account Executives representing Christian Dior Cosmetics, gave a demonstration of the Dior skin care and makeup line of cosmetics. The already beautiful Crickette Sheila Broom stepped up to be the model for the makeover. What a lovely result. All the Crickette women were interested in becoming more glowing than usual for the holiday season. When you see our lovely ladies around town, just know that they have the Dior secret.

Novmber 7th - Scavenger Hunt
Crickettes are typically a group of loving and giving women, but you put a challenge before them, divide them into groups, award prizes and look out. President Emily Clark took her life in her hands when she emceed a “Purse” Scavenger Hunt. Pushing and shoving was the order of the day and Ms. Em was the one that had to see the items found. She did manage to stay on her feet, but it was hard at times. And you just can’t possibility believe what some women carry in their purses. Seriously, it was all in fun and when the dust settled, all the ladies were still friends.

October 3rd - Cake Walk
October is here and what has that meant in Bartow for 69 years???….CRICKETTE PARADE AND CARNIVAL SEASON. Practice makes perfect and the Crickettes practiced “Cake Walking” with the help of some special guests, Mayor Pat Huff, Commissioner James Clements, Commissioner Wayne Lewis and Police Chief Joe Hall. What fun!! In addition, special husband helpers were Benji Speight (he leads a mean conga line) and Claude Wilson who “walked” with us and we think that they had as much fun as anyone. The Cake Walk Committee chaired by Cecilia Speight and assisted by Becky Grainger, Betty Jo Wilson, Jean Murphy, Kathryn Stilley, Olivia Hazell, Sandy Dobbertean, and Tina Spath did a fantastic job offering 27 cakes and more. The Decorating Committee, Brenda Lang Chair, Gaile Mundy, Ortelle Bowden, Rhoda Whitten, and Shirley Brosie outdid themselves with cute spider centerpieces that were won by 8 lucky attendees.
